Our Aims

• To encourage young people to ride and learn to enjoy all approved kinds of sport connected with horses
and riding;
• To provide instruction in horsemanship and to instil in members the proper care of their animals;
• To promote the highest ideals of fellowship, citizenship and loyalty, and to cultivate strength of character and self discipline.

What Pony Club is all about

Pony Club is all about having fun while learning the basics of riding and horsemanship. The Pony Club curriculum covers how to handle and care for a horse or pony safely and the basic skills and rules of various sports like dressage, sporting, campdrafting, jumping and mounted games. Pony Club also teaches presentation and formal riding skills. Members can work towards certificates that cover horsemanship and horse care, feeding, worming, shoeing, formal riding, showjumping and knowledge of various sports.

Musters

Musters (pony club days) are generally held twice a month (2nd and 4th Saturdays).  These may be altered and are recorded in the newsletter. Riding members are trained in various equestrian disciplines including theory lessons.

Brisbane Valley Pony & Hack Club is part of the West Moreton district which is Zone 3 and is also a member of the Pony Club Association of Qld. When representing Zone 3, the correct uniform is navy blue tie, white shirt, fawn jodhpurs, white helmet (AS3838) and a Zone 3 saddle cloth.
